Right in the neighborhood of CCentral Hotel, Bui Vien Street is the best place to be if you are looking for a fun night out on a budget in Ho Chi Minh City.
Bui Vien is a bustling street connecting Tran Hung Dao Street and Cong Quynh Street in District 1. It is named after a famous diplomat and mandarin under the Nguyen dynasty. Although it’s been part of HCMC’s famous touristic streets for a while, Bui Vien is now a full-fledged walking street during the weekend for all to come and enjoy its magnificent night life. Almost all locals can speak English so you can feel at ease coming here.
Over the years, backpackers have been gathering at this place for the many tourist-friendly services it provides. Bustling with bars and eateries all over, this street is bound to satisfy everyone thanks to its reasonable prices. With around VND 100,000 - 200,000 (USD 5-9), you can already enjoy a wide selection of local street food. It’s also nice to sit down at bars and cafés as they offer drinks while you soak up the urban lifestyle, with many open overnight.
Not just a place to satisfy the stomach, you will find other tourist friendly services available in the area as well. From massages, motorbike rental, to travel agencies, there are plenty of things to make your trip to HCMC even more fun. Also be on the lookout for the many souvenir shops. You will be delighted by the affordable and wide range of merchandise you can buy from these stores, from paintings, statues to clothing and bags.
